Money and trading: coins, traders, orders and happiness
How the coins add up, how much a trader can pay you, and why Pride is the most important day for your wallet.
Graveyard Keeper 2 counts money in bronze, silver and gold coins: 100 bronze make a silver and 100 silver make a gold. You start with 1 silver. Early money comes from burials and selling what you craft; later sermons and town orders add steady income.

- Town orders
You can only accept town orders on Pride. Completing them rewards happiness and coins. Pride also resets every trader, so the weekly happiness cap on special goods starts again that morning.
Prices, purses and restocks
- Prices move
- Prices are dynamic: more the merchant has, less the prices.
- Special goods
- Every merchant has their own goods to buy and sell, some special just to them.
- Restocks
- Merchant stocks refresh over time. You can also upgrade a merchant to expand their inventory.
- Happiness from trading
- You can also earn happiness by trading certain special goods.
- The happiness bar
- Selling items marked with the happiness label fills a progress bar at that trader; each time it fills you gain one happiness. Traders only want a limited number of each item a week.
Every trader also has a purse. It starts at a fixed amount and grows each day by the trader's daily income, which rises with the trader's tier - a trader cannot pay you more than it holds, so spread big sales across several shops.

The Town's other currency
Get happiness from Town Gratitude, trading special items, and completing town orders. Shops unlock new merchants and town orders, while increasing village reputation. Town orders are the main source of happiness. Happiness is what fills the pews: a sermon spends it, and the number of parishioners who come is the lower of your happiness and your church quality.
The most happiness each Town shop gives for special goods per week, by tier. It resets every Pride.

Money questions
How much is a gold coin worth?
10,000 bronze, or 100 silver. Prices in the game are shown as gold, silver and bronze coins side by side.
Why won't a trader buy my goods?
Either it does not deal in that item, or its purse is empty. Purses refill a little every day and grow with the trader's tier.
When do trader limits reset?
Every Pride. That is also the only day you can take new town orders.
What is the fastest money in the early game?
Burials. Every body you bury pays a Burial Certificate worth 1 silver to 5 silver, and the graveyard you build doing it pays again at every successful Mass.
