The game saves automatically after sleep. Mass, battles, resurrection and town orders each happen on one day of the week only.
Frequently asked questions
Which day is Mass?
Wrath, day 6 of the week. Sermons are held at the Church on Wrath only, and they pay Faith and coins.
Which day are town battles fought?
Only on Sloth. A battle is started at the guard post and won by capturing every enemy flag and holding them until the battle ends.
Which day can zombies be resurrected?
Only on Envy, when the storm powers the Resurrection Lab.
Which day can town orders be accepted?
Only on Pride. Completing an order rewards happiness and coins.
What unlocks the graveyard expansions?
The quest Certificate, Please unlocks the first expansion, and each expansion unlocks the next. They are built at the graveyard's Blueprint Desk: Expand graveyard I (12 Piece of stone), Expand graveyard II (12 Polished Stone), Expand graveyard III (24 Polished Stone). Graveyard modules, unlocked in the tech tree, set what can be built on the new ground.
Where are the pre-order Sauna and outfit?
The Sauna is just over the bridge. The costume is in the Dresser in the Keeper's house - the Dresser with mirror is built after the Suit Up! technology.
What is the recipe for Polished Stone?
4 Piece of stone, 1 Melted Fat and 2 Sand at a Stonemason's Workbench make 4 Polished Stone (Stone Polishing). Piece of stone: 2 Stone and 4 Wood wedge at a Stonemason's Workbench make 4 Piece of stone (The Concept of Stone).
What are the recipes for bronze and iron ingots?
Bronze: 3 Bronze Scrap and 10 Fuel at a Furnace I or Furnace II make 2 Bronze Ingot (Bronze Melting); or 3 Copper Nugget, 1 Tin and 20 Fuel at a Furnace I or Furnace II make 4 Bronze Ingot (Bronze Forge). Iron: 1 Iron Ore and 1 Coal at a Smithy I or Smithy II make 1 Iron Ingot (Smithy: Hammer); or 3 Iron Ore and 30 Fuel at a Furnace II make 3 Iron Ingot (Iron Forge).
What unlocks sermons and Faith?
Holy Moly! ends with the first ceremony and adds Wrath to the week. From then on a sermon can be held at the Church every Wrath, and sermons pay Faith and coins.
Where do zombies come from?
The first two come from the Plague Doctor after Sweet Dreams. Every other zombie is resurrected on Envy: a corpse on the Resurrection Table with Reanimation Liquid, Faith and a collar that covers the corpse's red skulls.
What does a zombie need to work?
A mastery at or above the recipe's requirement (a tool for that mastery raises it) and materials, brought by a supplier from a Zombie Supply Station in the area. In the factory, stations must also be linked by conveyor belts.
What is the zombie limit?
A cap on the number of zombies. Going over it gives the Excessive zombies debuff, which makes sermons pay less, until the count is back under the limit. A PR Machine load on Gluttony raises the limit for 1 to 5 weeks.
What unlocks better stations?
Better versions of a station (a Furnace II, a Woodworking Workbench II and so on) and workbench extensions such as the Tool Rack are unlocked in the tech tree and then built like any other station. Advanced recipes need the extension on the workbench.
Can buildings be moved?
Not directly: a building is removed and placed again. Removing a finished station refunds exactly half of its materials for 42 of the 79 stations and the full cost for 14; cancelling a construction site refunds the full cost for 78 of them.
Is there a renewable source of stone, wood and iron?
Yes, through zombies: the Zombie Stone Quarry and Zombie Marble Quarry produce Stone and Marble, the Zombie Miner produces Iron Ore, and the Lumberjack stand produces Logs and Sticks, all without any input.
When does the game save?
Automatically after the Keeper sleeps.
What restores energy and reduces insanity?
Food, drinks and potions restore energy, and so does sleeping. Insanity drops when the Keeper sleeps while tired and with drinks such as Wine and ciders. Maximum energy is 100 minus insanity.
How many fast-travel milestones are there?
14. Each milestone is activated once, at the milestone itself, and travel works between any two activated milestones.
What is the difference between red and white skulls?
In a grave, white skulls are what score and red skulls cancel the headstone's and fence's laurels. In a zombie it is the other way round: each red skull opens a perk slot.
Where does happiness come from?
Town Gratitude, trading special items and completing town orders. Houses give Green Scrolls; Linda takes them every Lust, raising citizen reputation and the maximum happiness limit.
What is graveyard quality for?
It pays out at Mass: a successful sermon adds a fixed number of coins for every point of graveyard quality. Headstones and fences on the graves, decorations and a cleared graveyard raise it.
