How it playsThe entry point for Acid and the most hands-on spell in the school. The Thrower lobs jets that leave corrosive puddles wherever they land, ticking away at anything standing in them for five seconds. The damage per tick is modest, but puddles stack with weapon elements and set up every Acid combo in the book.
StrategyLay puddles at chokepoints before enemies arrive, then fire through them with an elemental weapon for combo triggers. The Thrower's low cooldown means you can refresh puddle coverage more often than any other Acid spell. Great on the Bow school for sustained elemental uptime.
Strengths
- Lowest cooldown in the Acid school
- Puddles stack with weapon elements for combo setups
- Consistent corrosive uptime on grouped enemies
Weaknesses
- Low individual hit damage - it's a setup tool, not a closer
- Puddles require enemies to stand still to get full value
Combos featuring Thrower
- Any Fire or ElecAcid Thrower
Acid DPS Burst
Hit a Fire- or Elec-affected target FIRST, then Acid Thrower on top, and the acid detonates into a giant continuous damage burst. Reversing the order (Acid first, then Fire/Elec) only triggers a single tick.
